Dental technologies and treatments advance at a rapid pace. There are new technologies developed every year that prove to provide one of the better, faster, and smoother results. While older technologies can also be used for dental treatments, they may not be as effective or they make cause greater pain and discomfort. The following are some of the minimally invasive technologies we use for diagnosis and treatment of dental issues.

Digital X-Rays: These devices allow you to get a faster diagnosis since they produce immediate visual results without the need to process the film reel.
Intraoral Cameras: These are devices directed into your mouth so we gain a high-definition visualization of the inside of your mouth so we can curate the perfect treatment plan for your needs.
Smile Preview Software: In the past, doctors had to create the perfect smile and conduct cosmetic treatments without visual aids. However, thanks to smile preview software, you can now visualize your smile before actually beginning the procedure. This allows you to properly assess whether you want cosmetic dentistry treatments.
Soft Tissue Laser: This is a technological device with which we can treat gum disease fast and also drastically minimize healing time. It also allows us to treat gum disease without invasive procedures.

Treatments

Diagnostic: We conduct a wide range of diagnostic tests using x-rays and intraoral cameras to identify various dental issues. This also allows us to accurately visualize your mouth so we can identify hidden diseases that are just beginning and stop them from spreading.
Preventative: These include regular deep cleaning sessions, provision of mouth guards and night guards, and many other such treatments. Preventative services and treatments, as the name suggests, help you avoid diseases from taking root. For example, regular deep cleaning prevents plaque and tartar accumulation, which prevents bacterial growth, which, in turn, prevents gum disease.
Cosmetic: Cosmetic appearance can drastically improve your self-confidence and it can make you happier. At URBN Dental, we care about your happiness and mental health just as much as your physical health. Meet Our Team

At URBN Dental, we believe dentistry is more than just a science – it’s an art, too. In fact, our team masterfully combines the two disciplines to provide our patients with a dental experience that’s truly unforgettable.

Dr. Kyunglim Chae, DDS

Dr. Kyunglim Chae is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Chae works towards creating a better healthcare environment in Houston, TX.
When not practicing dentistry, she enjoys using her free time to travel, practice healthy living, and spend time with her family.

Dr. Jiman Nelson, DMD, MSD, MS

Born and raised in Jackson Mississippi, Dr. Nelson has always been emersed in extending hospitality, a love of science and medicine. Dentistry provided the perfect career that would allow him to combine all these factors. Dr. Nelson completed his Masters in Biomedical Sciences, Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, and residency of Advanced Education in General dentistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and practiced in the field since 2018.

Julia

Julia is our manager at URBN Dental. What she loves about Dentistry is the transformation the patients receive and seeing the smiles on their face. She enjoys traveling with her husband and loves photography! When she’s not at work she likes relaxing, reading, researching, editing photos, decorating and organizing her place.

Angela

University of Texas alumni, Angela Duong, graduated from her dental hygiene program with high honors and earned multiple awards including Outstanding Professional Leadership and Most Outstanding Student. When she is not making sure patients’ dental hygiene is in tip-top shape, she is either traveling or exercising to balance out her “foodie” ways.

Jennifer

Jennifer is one of our awesome Dental Assistants at URBN Dental Uptown. She has been in the dental field for 7 years and counting. With URBN Dental being your neighborhood Houston Dental Office, Jennifer’s versatile experience allows her to work with a variety of patients from children to cosmetic.

Being a Houston “H-TOWN” Native, Jennifer is a HUGE Astros and Rockets fan! She is a proud baseball mom who enjoys spending time with her family and friends on her days off. Oh, she is also the Snack Queen. Don’t worry! She does make sure she flosses afterward.

Kimberly

Kimberly graduated from Academy for Dental Assisting in 2016. She has built up and diversified her dental experience through temping and working with a wide variety of dentists. She brings this vast experience to assist and care for the patients at URBN Dental Uptown, a Houston dental office that is open on Saturdays.

Kimberly was born in Honduras and raised in Houston. She is an amateur photographer that is on her path to becoming a dental hygienist. Kimberly loves trying the diverse restaurants that Houston has to offer and taking what she tried and incorporating it in her cooking. She recently made some BOMB chili…you should ask her for the recipe.

Snickers

Snickers is a huge advocate of good oral health, whether that means going to his dental cleanings or getting his teeth brushed daily by his paw-rents. He also avoids eating chocolate candies for the sake of his teeth…and his doggy life. In his free time, Snickers is a dedicated sleeper and Instagram model @Htown_Snickers.
