Snickers is a huge advocate of good oral health, whether that means going to his dental cleanings or getting his teeth brushed daily by his paw-rents. He also avoids eating chocolate candies for the sake of his teeth…and his doggy life. In his free time, Snickers is a barker at large dogs and dedicated sleeper.
Vanessa is the lead registered Dental Assistant at URBN – Uptown. She is extremely passionate about helping others achieve their best smile and is currently in school to become a Dental hygienist. She is a Mommy to 1 year old Jace. When she isn’t working or studying she enjoys showing her little one the wonders of the world and making memories with her family and friends. Vanessa is also a voice captioner for the deaf and hard of hearing community. We are proud to have such a talented lead RDA here at URBN Dental!
Rafael Hernandez was born in Los Angeles, California. He has been in Houston since he was 11 years old. He has a passion for cars and likes spending time with family and friends grilling, going to the movies, bowling or going on road trips. He hopes one day he would be able to visit Ireland or New Zealand. He has been a RDA for over 3 years now and enjoys Dentistry. He loves helping patients maintain good healthy teeth. It makes him very happy when patients leave the office happy!
University of Texas alumni, Angela Duong, graduated her dental hygiene program with high honors and earned multiple awards including Outstanding Professional Leadership and Most Outstanding Student. When she is not making sure patients’ dental hygiene is in tip-top shape, she is either traveling or exercising to balance out her “foodie” ways.
Julia is our manager at URBN Dental. Providing a positive environment for her team and her patients is Julia’s everyday motivation. What she loves about Dentistry is the transformation the patients receive and seeing the smiles on their face. Her most recent accomplishment was receiving her MBA in Healthcare Management. She grew up in Washington state where she met her childhood friend and husband. She enjoys traveling with him and loves photography! When she’s not at work she likes relaxing, reading, researching, editing photos, decorating and organizing her place.
Dr. David Nguyen attended the University of Maryland, where he earned a degree in Neurology and Physiology. He then moved on to Barry University to study Biomedical Sciences. He obtained his Master’s degree and graduated at the top of his class. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
After Dental School, Dr. Nguyen completed a one-year Advanced General Practice Residency at Lutheran Medical Center, a Level-I trauma hospital. During his residency, he focused on complex oral maxillofacial surgery and full-mouth cosmetic rehabilitation cases. He is a certified Invisalign provider and specializes in Cosmetic Dentistry. Some of his patients include Houston Texans Cheerleaders, Models, and Actors. He is meticulous when it comes to perfecting his patient’s smiles.
Additionally, Dr. Nguyen has numerous patents filed and continues to invent innovative ways to advance the Dentistry field. When he’s not in the office, you can find Dr. Nguyen playing tennis, enjoying the local art scene, or satisfying his own creative side by sculpting. He also enjoys volunteering with local charities in his spare time..
